What do you know about Lean Manufacturing?

Lean business practices, first developed by Toyota, are being adopted by many US companies today. Have you heard of Lean, or has the company you work for been through a Lean transformation? If so, how long did it take and how is it going? The company I work for is about 2 years in now.

The company I work for has implemented it and definitely has had effects in improving efficiency. The process is always ongoing, but the process to date has taken about two years of gradual change. Our warehouse has been the last department so far to go through 5S and leaning. It has made great improvements.
