setting goals
Oh, It’s, Ohhhh asked:

I’m in high school, Freshman almost sophomore.

I need help setting goals and most importantly, accomplishing them.

I can set goals, but i never go all the way though with them, for example, for the past 3 years in Track i told myself that i am going to be one of the top long-jumpers in the team, i said that i was gonna be one of the coaches pick because i try my best all the time during practices… I kept this in my mind for the first week or 2 and i felt really good, and i was doing really good. but then gradually i stopped trying until the point where i just sucked and didnt get any better, and if anything, got worse. I just gave up.

Well this summer i want that all to change, i want to be in great shape for this XC season and into Track. My goal is also to jump a 16 long jump. Right now i have that motivation as i always do when i start something new, but i am really worried that i am going to lose that, what can i do to prevent me from giving up?
now that you know what i want to do, do you have any ideas for some workouts i can do during the summer?

Self discipline is just that, something you do on your own.

Secondly, you can only be the best you can be, not the best ever unless you’re born with special abilities. When you want to accomplish a goal, just push to do better than your own previous accomplishments. It’s nearly impossible to be the best at something because there’s billions of us out here to compete against.

That’s worse odds than the state lotteries.

ok, dude. u have to set goals that are small first. then u gotta get gradually bigger. if the goal is a year goal, set a calender. remind yourself to do small things that are going to help your goal come true. 4 example last year i wanted to gain wait. i only weighed about 101lbs,so i needed to gain weight,at least 30lbs because i looked anarexic. so, every day of the week, id have 5 meals a day, healthy ones & not so big. i might have skipped a week… or three, but at the end of the year, tada!!! i weighed 130lbs, my goal. so if u wanna complete ur goals just do wat i did

It’s always so hard to do these thing by your self. So make some one else help you . Ask them if they can make you do this or that. That can also encourage you to do good in long jump.

I hope you also make your goal

If you’d like a tool for setting your goals, you can use this web application:

    http://www.Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A Vision Wall (inspiring images attached to yor goals) is available too.
    Works on mobile.

I don’t use bar bells when I lift, but I still was able to utilize what you wrote and use it for my own use. I workout on the weight machines. One thing tht I got a long time ago is that concentration is so important. I am not sure why not many people replied to this post. I just wanted to tell you that I agree with you. I appreciate the information, thanks.
